“Why shouldn’t Disney pay taxes like any other company? I never liked the idea of giving companies tax breaks, it’s the government actively choosing the winners and losers.”

I never said Disney shouldn’t pay taxes. I said the power of the government should not be used to punish a company strictly for ideological reasons. That’s all I said.

“. . . until they do something illegal the GOVERNMENT should leave them alone.”

It is clear the Florida legislature in the 1960s gave Disney an unfair advantage over competitors. No court has said it was illegal.

Still, the legislature is now saying they want to level the corporate playing field; that over 50 years of state-sanctioned economic advantage is enough.

Disney doesn't want a level playing field. So they say Republicans hate gay people, Republicans secretly sing Song of the South, and so forth and so on.

Don't let Disney fool you. This is not about equity; this is about money. And about the Disney behemoth using its economic leverage to groom children.

President Trump funded his own presidential campaign.

Like hell he did. Trump raked in millions from donors big and small alike. I know. I was one of them.

And he's still raking in millions. I get emails from his son Don Jr. every day expressing how disappointed his father is in me because I haven't ponied up.

Not in 2015 - 2016.. once President Trump won the nomination, the big money donors started giving.. I have no use for minds that muddy clean waters. Deception afoot.

Are you even reading my comments or just replying to what you think I said? I’m asking because you just wrote a page long response that has absolutely nothing to do with my point. One more time:

I don’t like Disney and would like to see a boycott drive them out of business and I do not support their special status.
The Florida government at any time in the last 60 years could have voided the special arrangement and did not do so.
The Florida government is now voiding the agreement because of ideological differences. I think this is wrong.

It levels the playing field between them and every other company in Florida.

Corporations do not pay taxes, thus is corporations’ equality

Uh yeah, so you believe that Disney being exempt from zoning laws and all state, county and municipal laws that every other company in the state has to abide by is a level playing field?

“. . . I do not support their special status.”

Neither do I.

Neither does DeSantis; or Republicans in the legislature.

On that much we can agree.

Why do you wish to argue when what I typed was easily read and I have not misrepresented any of your post(s) ???

The Democrat party ruled Florida with an iron fist from 1875 - 1996 uninterrupted. It takes a lot of time to uproot and overturn 120 years of bad laws.

“and Trump’s was paid for by Pfizer, Dow and Bank of America. Was he beholden to them?”

Thank you. Trying to stick a candidate with who his donors are rather than what actions they take is cheap. Trumpites who salivate at any possible negative on DeSantis fail to state one, not one thing that DeSantis has done to show how he kow-tows to his donors.

Yup. I think some conservatives will be nastier than the left to any perceived threat to Trump. Luckily Trump is embellishing if not out right lying and that damages his “truths” and opinions. Plus most of his attacks are things he is guilty of. I think maybe he has dementia, reminds me of Grandpa Simpson.
