I would have liked TCU to win. It would have been good for college football and they were a great story this season, but UGA simply has too much talent.
They crushed my Vols and while I did not expect to win I did think we would put up points.
They looked like crap against Ohio State and were lucky to win that game, but for most of the season they were dominant or in cruise control. TCU was not really a dominant team. Great record but it ain’t in the SEC. I thought Michigan would beat them but TCU left it “all” on the field to win that game and just didn’t seem to have much tonight!
UGA is a very deep team with tons of NFL talent.
And they should have, Bama took apart KState who beat TCU in the Big12 championship game .
Bennett is a great QB but the TCU QB is pretty darned good too if you watched his body of work this season.
The biggest disparity was in the trenches on both sides. The UGA D-line was dominant and they just kept rotating them. The UGA O-line had better games this season but they kept Bennett upright and opened enough holes for the talented backs they have.
The UGA scheme and gameplan tonight was top-notch. They definitely had some plays ready based on film review that were highly effective in the first half.
Agree, it was men against boys. They needed Georgia to play very sloppy and dumb, like Michigan. Instead Georgia made 1 mistake the whole game.
I agree! And I’ve seen a many. Only a truly discerning eye would know the difference.
Bennett is different, but still rare. Despite coming so soon after Burrow.
That looked like one of those old Big 8 contests back in the ‘80s between Dr Tom Osborne’s Nebraska Cornhuskers and some random tomato can.
Comical. UGA had guys falling out all game long. OSU wasn’t the only one with injuries.
Congratulations to Tim Tebow!

Cheap hit?? It’s called football.
There’s no question the rosters were lopsided, as the final score indicated.
I sadly (but thankfully) expected it, going in.
I have the greatest respect for Duggan, and how he rose above his challenges to get to that final game. I am proud of that whole team. I guess I would have preferred their long time coach (Patterson?) got them there, but it was still a great moment for them, and other programs who want to rise to that level.
I still believe Bennett is a rare, college talent. He may not project to the next level that well, based on others like Wuerfell and Dorsey, etc, but he was still pretty amazing at this level.
Had to turn it off a little while ago. That was painful.
Wuerffel never projected well as a pro but he was one of the best pocket passers in SEC history with one of the best passing game coaches in history at any level.
I really like the TCU QB. He had grit and put together a nice season.
Bennett’s body of work at UGA is good but you would be hard pressed to think of a QB on a more talented team (maybe some of the Bama QB’s) in recent history and their defense last year was one of the best I ever saw as a lifelong SEC fan.
I love college football and I wish my Vols would have been in this game but they ran into a Carolina team that was simply in the zone. We got a ways to go on defense but they made progress this year.
Congrats to Timmy T! No one brought more emotion, or commitment, than he did, to the position. A truly fantastic double threat. His deep pass in Denver in OT is still one of my favorite clutch moments.
Now for a joke, that being a music connoisseur, you may get a kick out of...

It was a dreadful score for a National Championship game. I had hoped for a glass slipper along the way tonight. Georgia may have been that good but their scoring by quarter was modest. They were just having fun. They were lovin’ it.
Kudos, kids. Next year, TCU.
Thank you for that! Made my day!
The seniors had been pulled by then. At least some of them. Agreed it was unnecessary but TCU wasn’t putting up much of a fight against next years starters. It was just a bad, ugly night.
Told my wife before the game that TCU would get crushed by about 35.
Wish o knew how I could have put $5,000 on Georgia with the 15 point spread.
TCU should have been crushed by Michigan. TCU did not win that game; they lost it. Michigan should have won by 3 TDs.
I think Wuerffel actually won the title of the European Football League back when it existed LOL.
I remember telling friends, he’s going to be like the next Jim Kelly who came from the USFL to the NFL.
Sadly, it did not come to pass.
Now to tell you a funny story about Wuerffel, and Peyton Manning.
I ran into them BOTH in the Atlanta airport. Peyton was playing for the Colts at the time. Wuerffel was looking for work.
Not being shy, I walked up to them, and interrupted their conversation LOL. I told Peyton, sorry, but Danny is my man, knowing Peyton was much more famous a the time, but Wuerffel had bested him several times in college.
He said “congratulations” which I though was pretty cool, and humble. They were apparently both heading towards a benefit speaking arrangement that night. Been a big fan of both ever since.
They sort of did. Not that the calls were bad, but Michigan kept landing the wrong way in the end zone.
(The calls might have been off a bit)
Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug. And tonight, TCU was the bug.
