I didn’t think that you could show Afghanistan was a Red Line for the Soviets.

Agree!
There are nations\cultures with long historical memories about what they consider to be past injustices. The Chinese view the European contact period of the 1600s to 1900s as centuries of shame. Their senior military have given recent speeches that its payback time. Here in the US historical memory might go back to last week.

Balkans, Central\Eastern Europe similar stories.

Sure thing. I try to channel him every couple of months.

Vietnam is currently one of the United States closest strategic allies in Southeast Asia. Obviously, they were/are a strong ally of Russia as well. It is interesting that Putin remains so popular with the public there despite the events of the last year. The same observation can be made about the public’s perception of Putin in India as well and they have not had a long-time close relationship with Russia.

Your observations obviously have some relevance, but do not explain the public’s perception of Putin well in either country. Western media and big tech have far less influence over these peoples, and this is the primary driver, not events that took place before most of their population was even born.

“I believe Bob’s comment had a tongue-in-cheek aspect that you missed, regarding the Zeepers claiming their wife’s sister’s uncle’s dog reporting things from Crimea, etc. but I’ll let him speak to that.”

No, we’re talking about BobL saying that Reagan didn’t “mess around” in Russia’s backyard. I got the tongue-in-cheek about the seance or the channeling or whatever you wish to call it; but the gist of his comment was that Reagan never got involved in Russia’s backyard. I proved BobL wrong. You can try to defend him until the cows come home, but facts are facts.

“You’re all insecure, condescending and ankle-nippy and there are too many of that type around these days.”

Nice projection there, Sparky.

“I didn’t think that you could show Afghanistan was a Red Line for the Soviets.”

Why should I? Yours was a throw-away, a non-sequitur that didn’t dignify a response. It’s like me saying you are too young to shave: It has nothing to do with the subject (your claim that Reagan never “messed around” in Russia’s backyard).

You do this all the time, Bob. You have two responses to anything you disagree with or that shows you wrong: (1)
“Link, please;” and (2) evasion and non-sequiturs.

It’s one of the reasons no one takes you seriously, son.

India has close ties with Russia, but mainly as a foil against China. Do you think BRICS is some kind of wunderkind? BRICS is only as viable as India and China not coming to blows.

Putin is popular among the public in most non-Western populations despite the events of the last year. Somehow, they are not connecting with the messages that the Western media is producing. It seems odd.

Your comments on BRICS don’t make any sense at all. Did you take too much insulin this morning or skip a meal?

Ronald Reagan very much “messed around” in Russia’s backyard in the 1980s when he armed the Afghanis to fight against the Soviet invasion. And I for one am damn glad he did.

🤔🤔🤔

That’s because you don’t understand the foundation of BRICS. For all intents and purposes, BRICS is China and India. Brazil is economically stronger than Russia, and South Africa is in BRICS just so China can exploit it.

“Typical answer when you’re caught.”

Nice try, kid. When you ask a pertinent question, one that is not a non-sequitur or an evasion, I will be glad to answer.

You see, that’s what a conversation is: Staying on point. Flyng off into irrelevancies is the standard tool of someone who has lost the argument. As you have.

Yeah, it was, son. Go back and read the posts.

Your reading comprehension skills leave much to be desired. But then you clearly have no social skills either, so maybe you’re a ‘lennial. (Not that I care.)

”Son.” LOL. What are you, Darth Vader? I picture you saying “Luke, I am your father,” only you’re four feet tall and speaking in an Alvin of the Chipmunks voice.

Oh, and I’m a “she,” sonny. 😂

You simply CANNOT tell me what Soviet Red Line Reagan crossed, which is typical for you making claims.
