"Hell is for Children" - Pat Benatar
Dfwgator: "Hell is for Children" - Pat Benatar
They cry in the dark
So you can't see their tears
They hide in the light
So you can't see their fears
Forgive and forget
All the while
Love and pain become one and the same
In the eyes of a wounded child
Because hell, hell is for children
And you know that their little lives can become such a mess
Hell, hell is for children
And you shouldn't have to pay for your love
With your bones and your flesh
It's all so confusing this brutal abusing
They blacken your eyes and then apologize
Be daddy's good girl, and don't tell mommy a thing
Be a good little boy, and you'll get a new toy
Tell grandma you fell from the swing
Because hell, hell is for children
And you know that their little lives can
become such a mess
Hell, hell is for children
And you shouldn't have to pay for your love
With your bones and your flesh
No, hell is for children
Hell, hell is for hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for children
Hell, hell is for hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for children
Hell, hell is for hell
Hell is for hell
Hell is for children
Hell is for children
Hell is for children
Pat Benatar
To think, the world is even worse for children today:
Beside the horrible abuses mentioned in the song, today, we can add all the sexualizing/grooming of children, that goes on in our society, and also, how they are deliberately being confused about their gender, to the point of parents butchering their reproductive organs, SMH.
The entire planet has gone insane.
It's not gone. Apple bought the rights to it and it only shows on Apple TV+ now.
Because there was so much outrage in the year that this happened, Apple agreed to a one-night showing on broadcast TV. They haven't done that since then.

I’ve known about it for several years. The story was Charles Schultz was very intentional about the reading and Linus doing the reading. It makes sense (to me) that the character who has a security blanket drops it when quoting fear in the context of Christ.
