Why do they always preface “attempted” robbery? It’s an armed robbery. A robber. Not a “would be” robber either, another wretched phrase, though not as bad as “robbery gone bad”.
Notice they are careful to specify the victim has a “legally owned” gun, but they didn’t care to point out the robber in all likelihood has an illegal weapon, most likely a felon in possession to boot. It just seems strange the journalistic contortions they weave, when it’s actually easier to write clearly.

Good. Hope he gets a raise.

“I expect the restaurant worker to be arrested soon.”
Give it a rest. There is no indication at all that the worker is going to be arrested. Georgia is a stand your ground state, and is also a Constitutional Carry state, no carry license required.

What a surprise.
They have a mugshot.

The mug shot is evidence he wasn’t a first time offender.

"Basically a male entered, later found to be Joshua Hickey, entered with a mask and a hood on. He did have a semi-automatic pistol," Sergeant Justin Clark told WMAZ. "The restaurant worker was struck, hit the ground. As he was coming back up, he drew his own legally-owned firearm and fired three shots at Mr. Hickey. Mr. Hickey was struck twice and fled on foot." Officers were able to locate Hickey and transport him to the hospital, but he died of his wounds.
Enjoy your dirt nap, you POS

Thanks. Am I the only one who sees a strong resemblance to Karine Jean-pierre?/i> Her sister perhaps?

Good. The left wants perps to waltz right in and take what they want from their “oppressors”. And they are ok if the perp kills you.
I’ve noticed with more and more in these cases, the perps aren’t satisfied with just getting the money. They’ll severely injure or kill the victims now. I’m sure this being encouraged by wokeness, CRT, and soft on crime leftists.
