It is an expensive to go. While I can go to Burger King and get two meals for about $12, I would pay about $40 if I went to Five Guys.
We’ve got a Five Guys near us. I ate there ONCE, maybe five years ago. The prices were outrageous and the food was only so-so, nothing special.
The strange thing is I didn’t post my experience on social media or make a video complaining about the place. I just made note of it and didn’t go back.
The video skips over the individual prices....
I checked their menu and prices online and
burgers vary from 4-7 bucks each, fries up to 4.99 per order, and drinks about 2.80....
So based on what she said she ordered, the max would be about $50...if she orders the most expensive items...
This is a hit piece...or she is a complete buffooon....
Either way, I can make a decent steak dinner for 4 with rice pilaf or potatoes, horseradish, salad, and yorkshire pudding for less
Perfect for Biden’s next treasury secretary
And it will be healthier.
Let’s not forget that restaurant meals are usually taxed.
We always have to remember that far too many people believe that it is cool to show how stupid they are to millions of people.
Can’t fix stupid. Just be glad to never be caught doing something stupid and everyone in the world finds out.
These are the people that vote Biden, then complain when their choice has consequences, like higher prices at 5 guys. I’ve been to 5 guys once, in Mesquite, NV if I remember correctly. For 2 people, the total with tip was almost $40. The burgers were decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. They reminded me a lot of Wendy’s burgers.
Got a 1/4 pounder with cheese, bottle of water, no fries at McDo’s. $9.50. No more “change back from your dollar!”
I don’t blame the restaurant. They’re passing their taxes and expenses on to the customer. Somebody has to pay.
The public gets outraged over things like this, but NOT over the insane taxes and regulations that businesses have to deal with. The public seems to want everything handed to them free, and politicians are happy to reap benefit from that delusion.
The Democrats make policies that make inflation the worst it has been in 40 years. Biden blames it on greedy corporations. The low information voters eat that up and think we need socialism.
I’m eating at home mostly these days for all the reasons previously posted here. The food tastes better too when you don’t feel ‘ripped off’.
It’s good for generating diarrhea, so there’s that.
That's a 5.03566334% tip, not even close to a round number.
at little tavern
all the employees were tatted overweight bleach blonde ex-cons with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths
and the whole place smelled like b.o. and grease
good times! good times!
“Their prices are clearly posted. This person is an idiot.”
That’s what’s destroying this country. In a FUNCTIONAL country, we wouldn’t indulge these people, we’d lock them up.
Maybe it was the sales tax. That’s usually what floors me.
“A $3.53 tip!! Wow.”
I’m actually getting to start to like this guy - he’s tipping at European levels (5 to 10%) which is what EVERYONE should tip at, now that waiters are already paid a ‘living wage’ (or even more).
