Yeah maybe it is being done as a courtesy, not really sure either. When I looked it up, some media outlets have internal rules about it.
And as I am typing this, I found this:
NEWPORT NEWS — When a 15-year-old boy was found shot to death in a church parking lot in southeast Newport News on Nov. 3, police said a new state law precluded them from releasing the teenager’s name.
“Due to changes in State Code, law enforcement is no longer able to release the identity of juveniles who die as the result of a violent crime,” Newport News police spokesman Lou Thurston told the media

Psychiatric meds, self loathing, hopelessness fed by media and internet, a lying hateful government, dysfunctional families, failed public school system, lack of shame, no belief or worship in God, social media influencers, glued to phone, the list goes on and on.
No reason for the FBI to be there. No interstate commerce.
No federal crime at all.
Very good point.
Great. All we need is for our states to start adopting Canadian laws...
Why was the FBI even involved? This was a state crime.
There is a video of someone who said, “yeah, he was kind of sweet (gay) and got teased for it.”
Survivor’s Guilt.
That looks like a freaking mugshot
“Why did the FBI have to break down the door of the rental?
The perp was dead, he lived alone.
Why not call the rental company and have them open the door, or at least, pick the lock?
No. They have to destroy a $500 door to make a dramatic entry for no reason.”
I agree with you and even if they could not reach the landlord/lady I’m sure at least one of them is a bonded locksmith. How hard is it to pick a freaking lock? Even if it’s a Schlage door lock they can at least drill through it and be in in less that 5 minutes.
Does anyone remember the singer Eartha Kitt?
I think he looks a lot like her. Just my opinion.

I read he was buying the house. But they should have found his keys on him.
It trains them to be brutal and unconcerned with other peoples property.
No because he probably could not do the job and let his power go to his head which led to everyone under him to hate him. He probably had no idea how to mange or relate to his employees.
Some people do really well in some positions and not others. He was probably a really good team leader, which made his higher-ups think he might make a good manager.
He just wasn’t a good manager.
I doubt even that.
