Wowsers! There's a word for what you wrote, something like "could you be any less self-aware" but I don't think that's really it.
Just because it's easier for you to highlight a whole article then copy/paste it here, those of us with problems with those long posts should just shut up and deal with it??? Really? Are you sure that's what you intended to say? OH, and I have no problems with the memes.
What LJ is saying is true but she’s not criticizing people who use phones. The real fact is that cellphones just can’t do internet website tasks as well. The screen is too small, manipulation of the screen (includes things like copy and paste, etc) is clunky, it’s just not viable yet. Cellphones have their purpose. It’s a thing that does some things well and some things very poorly.

Yep. But an example of things it does well: I can put an app on my cellphone that will show where I am anywhere and show me the lot lines. That way I can see where I am relative to my lot lines in NH and then mark them.
That’s amazing tech. On Hunt X. I suppose you could do that on a laptop but not conveniently. On a desktop? Nope! Every piece of technology has it’s purpose and it’s place.

Re: smartphone dictation, or voice to text, whatevah...
Would you believe I am SO paranoid about all these devices that the first thing I did was go through all the apps and turn the microphone OFF. Except for the camera. Don’t want silent videos. But other than that... fuhgeddaboudit. LOL And I was probably one of the last ones here to even get a smartphone. It’s just a mini tablet to me, no connection other than WiFi when available. I use my dumb flip phone for talking, and the smartphone for playing word games, showing people my photos, and occasional texting.
I know people who keep domesticated rats for pets, they can be quite cute and friendly.
Yup, and all I wanted was a phone. But others needed me to be able to text. But could I get just that? Noooo.
So I have a browser and tons of apps that I never use.
And I don’t particularly appreciate being tracked everywhere I go.
If I want to FReep.....I’ll go sit down at my PC.
