Lol, catching headlines before signing off and was about to post but sure enough your post confirmed we at FR are great minds.
Went to visit friends that have a place in Mexico and went way out into the country to a fancy outdoor restaurant in the mountains overlooking the Pacific.
Lots of young people driving expensive cars. Crowded, music, nice clothes. I’m guessing that these “kids” (20-somethings) were from families that had connections in the mob, government, and/or both.
There were 8 guards in tactical gear, face masks/balaclavas and AR style rifles around the perimeter of the outdoor seating area.
Tourists?
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they were not Japanese.
According to an investigative source, those involved in the commotion appeared to be members of Chinese Dragon, a gang comprised primarily of second- and third-generation descendants of Japanese orphans left behind in China when Japan withdrew from the country at the end of World War II.

LOL - whenever I read about a restaurant riot, I think of the high society banquet food throwing wars that the Three Stooges were always accidentally causing or getting involved in.

Tarantino always took the violence a bit too far in his movies but scenes like the one you posted make his movies worth watching overall. They way he works music into his movies is genius.
