Will they keep the people who check postings for political correctness? How about the employees who work with “law enforcement” to find people who don’t follow the party line?

Facebook has already started the process, which it plans to
execute via shifting performance expectations rather than
outright firing hordes of staffers all at once.

***********

At least the early leavers may have a better chance at get a
job some where else. Not sure how all the employment is
spaced out across the USA, etc. Some areas may get hit
harder than others.

Quiet layoffs for Quite Quitting. sounds reasonable.

“ At Intel, we laughed at their efforts as Pentium was very close to reality.”

Sorry about the off topic. But that just reminded me of how pentium got its name. When they tested the chips mathematical precision, they tasked it to add one hundred to 486. It returned 485.9999

This is right. A PIP is the final step before firing. It’s a CYA move, not a real attempt to help a flailing employee.

PIP is basically to save the company from lawsuits. The firing decision is already made.

You can never actually get another job when you are asked to re-apply. One company I worked at did this when closing a plant and only about 10 people out of nearly 200 got a job at the new place. It is insulting that management even does this as you already are doing the job for years.
