At least 500 million copies of Tolkien books have sold and billions made with the movies but someone small and insignificant in hollywood does not like the characters that made it so very successful.
They could not even begin to create such a successful story so they set out to wreck it because all they think about is gay gay gay. Same has happened to the big franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel films etc. and to tv shows that are now unwatchable.
