You know, your story illustrates something else important. There is still so much we don’t know about Covid and its long-term effects. Yes, we know much more than we did when it first hit, but there is so much more to learn.

It’s quite the miracle you survived such a nasty case of Covid given this list of pre-existing conditions. Man, the rotten disease fairy has sprinkled some real nasties on you. That flat stinks.

My mother had a long lost of maladies (really bad CHF, severe COPD, pulmonary hypertension, polycythemia vera, lung nodules, kidneys so full of stones they were like two big rocks ((so bad the lithotripsy they tried did not work)), runaway diabetes, and more). In 2003, when she was diagnosed with all this, her doctors predicted she would not live past 2004 and so I returned to my hometown to care for her then. She died of something else entirely in 2015.

So you never know. God isn’t done with you until He’s done. It sounds like you are Blessed with a wonderful wife and family who love you dearly and will always watch out for you. I will add you to my prayers, too.

Yeah you definitely defied the odds. Just obesity and diabetes alone greatly increased your risk with Covid.

I’m guessing that your Stage 3 CKD is diabetes mediated. If you have proteinuria along with that you get my sympathy.
