False comparison; never at any time was Cuba seeking statehood nor the USA promulgating territoryhood. But Russia certainly thought Cuba belonged to them, now that’s brought up; and then that raises the rightful ownership of Cuba to Bautista verus Castro, never mind the Monroe Doctrine and the reasons thereunto.
You utterly and totally missed the point. Who the eff are we, according to the views you promulgated, to threaten to blow up Cuba because of their choice to host Russian nuclear weapons. Who the hell are we. Cuba is an independent country and could do what it wants without interference from us. Right?
If we can get upset with nukes in Cuba, Russia can get upset with NATO military arrangements with Ukraine.
What’s in our security interests takes precedence. If Cuba occupied by our enemies presents such a threat, all effective steps have to be taken. I know that, for example, Trump would do what’s needed. Biden, an ally of Russia in spite of his recent rhetoric, works to leave us vulnerable and wrak.
I’ve heard Putin’s claims with respect to NATO expansion and how they supposedly applied to a promise that George H.W. Bush was supposed to have made to Yeltsin and then breached by Clinton’s war in Bosnia; but yet again this is a false comparison, because every time the USA backed off, Russia expanded their territory in response. Not to mention the missile defense shield that was supposed to be installed in Poland was not a forward offensive installation against Russia but a defense against Iran. This begs the question again (which you left unanswered) as to where this fits in terms of patriotism.
Exactly, and that is the same for every country. But you choose to engage in special pleading when it comes to Russia. We can have our spheres of influence, but we call it something else and then accuse Russia when they try to have their spheres of influence. This idiocy is how we got WW1 and all the rest.
So the USA is the only country that can’t defend itself. Where have I heard that before?
There is no “special pleading”. Don’t accuse me of that without cause. An aggressor is an aggressor; perhaps you’re engaging in special pleading yourself and projecting.
Your argument is special pleading. That is what it is.
You doofuses are so fixated on the 1984 "Putin is our enemy" ten minute hating that you pay no attention to our real adversary.
Hey look....squirrel.....
But wouldn’t driving your car only 4% of the time be good for them? I mean, if you drove it 20% or 50% of the time, the freeways would be parking lots all day, and the CO2 released would be epic.

I believe you forgot Xi Jinping and the Prime Minster of the Netherlands.
You’re putting words in my mouth again. I ask what can be construed about the man’s actions that can be considered patriotic (the man called the fall of the USSR “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the [20th] century”, or did you know that?) and you respond with a red herring about Cuba that defends their illegitimate communist regime. I suppose you have no answer for me, then, so have a nice evening.
You put your own words in your mouth.
