Still, he seems like a rook or knight on a chessboard. Powerful but not high up enough to take out the President.

Who in their right mind would think that LBJ was an improvement over JFK? That’s where the investigation needs to begin.

JFK did threaten to end the CIA. I noticed the article on the mafia forgot to mention that little fact.

I have no idea what really happened to JFK, but I have an interesting anecdote that supports the Daily Mail article.

Our family knows someone at Interpol through marriage, a person who would be considered senior administration at the agency. We’ve sat at the same table as the guy. His opinion about the assassination was that it was a mob hit. He gave us no details, and perhaps he didn’t have any, but he was well connected among the intelligence agencies worldwide, and that was his opinion.

Maybe someday we’ll know for certain. I enjoyed the idea found in “The Illuminati Trilogy” (which is a satire by Robert Anton Wilson) that all of the conspiracies were true, including Jackie with a ladies’ pistol in her purse ready to plug John after she found out about the affair with Marilyn Monroe.

The double did not shoot anybody (unless he shot General Walker, not sure about that one) but did mouth off at various locations and did visit the Cuban embassy in Mexico City.

RFK started the clock ticking on his brother and himself with the deportation of Carlos Marcello. Both David Ferrie and Lee Harvey Oswald worked as snoops and servers for Marcello's lawyers. That said, no one family boss would survive taking out the POTUS without the consent of the others.

Roselli was scheduled for the House Select Committee on Assassinations, never showed up. A few weeks later his remains were found in an oil drum in Tampa Bay, if memory serves. I doubt he was the shooter or one of the shooters.

There are at least five other major players (in addition to the CIA) who had motive to kill JFK, and my view is that Angleton did the “heavy lifting” to get them to work together before, during and after the deed to make everything go smoothly.

—The military industrial complex. They wanted a long and expensive war in Southeast Asia, and JFK was souring on the idea.
—The Mafia (discussed elsewhere in this thread...)
—Israel (not yet discussed). JFK was adamantly opposed to nuclear proliferation, and the Israelis were very angry at him. This was not known to JFK researchers until Seymour Hirsch published his 1991 book “The Samson Option”.

LBJ was one mean demented sob. There is nothing he would not do to get his way. He and the Kennedy’s positively hated each other. There were enemies aplenty to go around including LBJ, the MOB, Cubans of all sorts, probably Hoover. The list is a very long one.

The old man Joe Kennedy saw to it one of his sons was president and Giancana helped him do it by delivering votes in Chicago along with the Chicago machine. They were all involved in making it happen. Giancana even had names for the Kennedy’s, Bobby was BOOB ie.

LBJ was a ruthless bully. He would hold other congressmen and senators by the lapel while he persuaded their vote and kicked them with the sides of his sharpened cowboy boots leaving their ankles bloodied.

Life is full of strange coincidences! It’s odd to see this posted while I’m re-reading James Ellroy’s American Tabloid. I have no idea to what extent he researched the alleged Mob/CIA connections to Kennedy’s assassination, but I’ve always thought his theory of the case made a lot of sense.

It’s basically this: Kennedy’s half-hearted support and ultimate betrayal regarding the Bay of Pigs was the last straw. The Mob had been hoping we’d re-take Cuba and get them their casino businesses back, and the CIA had coordinated the effort with Mob money, dope money, and Cuban ex-pats. It may never be proven, but it makes a heck of a story!

The Zapruder film does not show the grassy knoll during the assassination. Abraham Zapruder was standing on the grassy knoll.

Orville Nix was standing across from the grassy knoll so he sort of captured it but the fence area is dark without any clarity.

No photos or videos or hard evidence for a shooter behind the fence. Just eye witness testimony of seeing and smelling smoke.

If someone fired from there I suspect they would have been well hidden and bailed soon after making the shot. Thus I am not surprised there is no photo or video evidence of it plus the cameras had limited clarity and resolution.

Some say Oswald fired that head shot but I find it difficult to reconcile that with a viewing of the zapruder film.

I think the execution details, shooters etc will remain unprovable.
