“Spend $70,000 for a electric car and thousands for home charger and worry if you can get to your destination and maybe burn up along the way when you charge at home if you will burn down the house.
Plus the vehicle weight is higher and will wear your tires down quicker.
Meanwhile you can buy a gas car that is far far cheaper.”
Sorry, but almost none of that is true. Paid $53,000 and $350 for a home charger. A full charge at home cost me $3.64 and I can drive 325 miles on that charge. I drove it from New Jersey to Nevada stopping every couple hundred of miles for an 18 minute charge and restroom break. I don’t know about tires wearing faster but there are no oil changes and very little maintenance costs. A gas car may be cheaper but a horse and buggy is cheaper than a gas car.😄
Tesla’s website say it going to take ~8 hours or so to recharge for your trip to Nevada
