Looking at this from Putin’s perspective, he’s holding all of the cards. Biden and the Democrats have been trashing him since the 2016 election, falsely claiming that Russia interfered in the election on behalf of Donald Trump. Biden keeps invoking Putin’s name as a scapegoat for inflation and high gas prices. Biden is providing Ukraine with weapons that are being used against the Russian military. Now Biden expects Putin to be a nice guy and cut Brittany Griner a break? Putin knows the longer he drags this out, the worse it will be for Biden with his own base. He’s not going to let her go anytime soon and give Biden the opportunity to brag about how he pressured Putin into backing down. This isn’t Corn Pop we’re talking about.
