I’m missing something here. Tommy James and the Shondells released “I Think We’re Alone Now” in 1967. Tommy James also recorded the hits you mention, and others as well.

“James and the Giant Peach” was a children’s book by Roald Dahl, and there were a couple of movies made from it. Was there a group by that name as well?

There was a 128 count line dance for Billy Idol’s Mony Mony, which is much more than the 32 counts for a typical line dance. It repeated a mere 4 times for the whole song.

Mony Mony supposedly inspired by the insurance company.
