They have just said they won't do the job they were elected to do.

Yep. They need to be removed from their duties post haste if they openly defy their sworn duty.

Prosecutorial discretion.

They don’t prosecute federal pot laws either.

At the state level, the office is openly partisan, meaning elected under one party banner or another. For the feds, the political bias is also sought. They are labeled non-partisan only because they do not stand for election. They are highly politically biased, as a group.

They’re not doing their jobs, so stop paying them. Eventually they will figure out that they are no longer wanted when the direct deposits stop coming.

Lawlessness. If you don’t like the law, work to overturn it. Can I simply disobey laws I don’t like?

Perhaps they have not heard of special prosecutors or State’s attorney generals.

And the national divorce gains much needed momentum. I want nothing to do with these people who demand to murder babies.

These are the type of prosecutors who were elected not to do their job by people who voted for them not to do their job so this isn’t unexpected....

They have just said they won't do the job they were elected to do.

They'd better read this. And weep.

San Francisco votes overwhelmingly to recall progressive DA Chesa Boudin

“Prosecutorial discretion.”

I never understood why one person gets to arbitrarily determine what laws or crimes to prosecute.

That is an incredible amount of power for one person to have - it supercedes that of the legislature and executive.

That’s right. There is no difference between a doctor killing an unborn baby vs a thug shooting, hitting, or causing unknown trauma on an unborn child. It’s still murder. If our elected officials can’t or won’t do their duty to protect everyone, they should be arrested for malfeasance.

It's not supposed to be arbitrary, but there is no penalty if a prosecutor exercises it to favor his friends and punish his enemies - with a very narrow exception of blatant and totally off the wall charges. Loopy legal theories work.

The Waco biker cases are a good example. 170 people with boilerplate, non-specific indictments. Challenegd in state and federal courts, all upheld. see too, January 6 political prisoners. All upheld by courts.

it is an incredible amount of power. It can be abused without penalty. The recourse, accourding to the rule of law, is throw the bum out. That remedy doesn't work in a banana republic.

It's pretty much if you are in that regime's sights, you're screwed. There is no remedy at law.

No remedy at law for government lying by insinuation "Russia, Russia, Russia" either.

I will bet a bunch of these also refuse to prosecute criminals. We have one where I lived who refused to prosecute a felon and gang leader who was taped in a shoot out. Once the guy was released he did a drive by and killed an 8 year old girl. Now the DA has signed on to this BS
