They might have gotten away with it if they hadn’t capitalized all the first letters in each line. Could have been their little secret family joke.
“But, i could have written it out, ...”
Of course, ... of course ... but you didn’t.
Seems “Karens gotta Karen” could apply to:
(1) those who think the grave stone needs to have the offending words chiseled out to protect our public eyes, and
(2) those who had a hissy fit today, are more offended and disgusted with those who have an opinion (opposite of theirs) about a PUBLIC grave stone epitaph (known to be offensive to many in U.S. culture) and should “mind their own business” about the specific PUBLIC statement! (i.e. shut up if don’t agree with me on the issue).
IOW, there is no difference betw the chiselers and the hissy-fitters other than whose statements they want out of the public square. And that sounds a lot like woke-ness.
“... that is not what the tomb stone says. there are a lot of sweet sentiments in it... you choose to see only the capital letters that spell an offensive statement. you see what you want to see ...”
Come on FRiend teeman ... you don’t believe your own statement do you?
The family admitted publicly to intentionally writing it so it came out that way.... b/c it was a “term of endearment” (one would be a sucker to believe that untruth) as used by the decedent when common understanding by average persons is a term used to be offensive (you admitted that yourself) .... and all the “sweet sentiments” was to get their offensive message across ... it wasn’t even subtly written. LOL ... you would have been more candid to just say you liked it, or have no problem with it. Responsibility2nd saw exactly what the family intended to be seen... as did all of us.
in my tribe some of us self-identify as ducks. Yep.
Ducks. Quacking birds. Webbed feet.
We say “Duck off”; “Brother-Ducker”; “Shut the Duck up” and other things. The jokes write themselves some days.
Inside jokes are private, unless one tries/chooses to spread them around.
i believe everything i say... i wouldn’t lie to you. more people will visit his grave to see it... small minded folks will vandalize it. others will try to have it removed, but they too are small minded.
there are bigger things out there to worry about... and if small children end up reading it? well, if they understand the joke, then they have had exposure to it well before this tombstone.
Seek Understanding Children. Knowledge Is Triumph. - wise guy.
Tribe of which people?
I've been thinking about studying Igbo language.
