Here's what it might be like to travel on a double decker airplane seat

I think this would fail:

1. ADA requirements at both levels
2. Safe evacuation at both levels
3. the public accepting it

Seems like a great way to get pink eye. Also good luck to anyone on the lower level window or center seat who needs to squeeze past to get to the bathroom.

As a retrofit for existing aircraft, there would be no windows.

Actually it’s a clever idea. Both levels might be more comfortable than our current economy seats. Do we know anything about pricing?

Well, at least you can fully extend your legs, AND the person in the seat in front won’t be putting the seat back and whacking you in the legs. Air travel has become less comfortable as the airlines cram people together like sardines.

I’ve given up on flying. It’s too much of a hassle.

If I can’t drive it I don’t go. I’m also unvaccinated and the rules can change too easily, leaving me stranded. I’ll stay with my car and make a run for it if needed.

It is a great idea, but in the case of an evacuation, I am not sure the bottom seats would be easy to vacate, especially for elderly.

No way to get pssengers off in the required time. Any older person with back or joint issues would take too long just getting out of their seat.

I doubt the woman in the lower section is that tall, and her feet go all the way to the end. On the other hand, the upper people seem to have adequate knee room.
