When I was 13 there were radio ads for a concert that I could not figure out who was playing.

Radio promoter voice> “Coming on Saturday to the Sportatorium, one of the most exciting bands today, yes in full concert sound, yes tickets available Peaches Records don’t miss them”.

Relayer. Yes indeed. Very much like "Tales..." but quite different.

Patrickv Moraz was an excellent choice for keyboards. Very memorable.

Correction of my earlier post — White’s debut with Yes was on Tales (‘73), not Relayer. Anyway, two excellent and very underrated albums.

So sorry to hear this. He played with the greats - from the Beatles to Yes - a very talented and from all reports an all-around great guy. John Lennon, George Harrison, Klaus Voorman, Alan White et al playing How do you sleep?

My favorite, too. Saw them perform it live at MSG in 1974

IIRC, Alan White played the “Close to the Edge” tour after Bruford left to join King Crimson for “Larks Tongues in Aspic”

He did indeed. But his studio debut was on Tales.

Wow. We are losing a lot of them now. Boomers aging out. The little platoon that goes through life with us is shrinking.

Dallas right? you sure that wasn’t Memorial AUDITORIUM?

IIRC the old Dallas Sportatorium was a wrestling arena in the early 70s

or did Fritz Von Eric appear as on the bill with Yes lol
