I watch some of Better Call Saul but then I cancelled my Netflix so haven’t seen many years of it.
And when Nacho was hiding out in the fleabag motel he was taking to someone on the phone. Was it supposed to be Mike? It definitely wasn’t Mike’s voice.
I'm having trouble with these scenes too.
I agree that was Tyrus' voice on the phone with both Nacho and the guy watching him through the peephole. Gus knew exactly where Nacho was.
If Gus wanted Nacho dead, he could have had his SWAT team kill him at Lalo's home along with everyone else. Or he could have also had a SWAT Team (or just one guy) waiting inside the motel room until Nacho arrived. But instead, a gun and some cash were left for him on his pillow.
So ... as sketchy as it sounded, the "wait here for two days and jump into a passing farm truck" plan may have been legit.
What I really don't understand is why Gus would order Mike to go through all the safe cracking/safe replacement just to plant the motel's phone number for the Cartel to find.
Having Nacho fall into the Cartel's hands is exactly what Gus DOESN'T want, right? They would surely torture Nacho until he told them everything about his relationship to Gus.
So the Twins arrive at the motel. We have the gunfight. Nacho firing two guns that were provided by Gus at the Twins who were sent there (indirectly) by Gus ... Gus has orchestrated this whole thing. Do I have that right?
Nacho drives past the Twins and smashes into their SUV. Did he escape? Even that's unclear.
Later, at the chicken plant, Mike gets a phone call from Nacho (I presume). He says, "He wants to talk to you" and offers the phone to Gus.
Maybe this will be more understandable as the story unfolds, but right now it's not making any sense.
I’m glad it’s not just me who doesn’t get it. Confusing.
Besides, all the bad guys look the same, both Gus’ and Lalo’s. Confusing.
My husband and I finally got a movie night and watched, “Nobody” with Bob Odenkirk. It was a fun movie.
I am absolutely dreading whatever happens to Kim Wexler.
Absolutely terrified. I just love her so much.
(I didn’t know y’all had this thread but Jonny found me and now I’m trying to catch up. Might only have watched 2 or maybe 3 episodes so far. )
I think Kim survives because if something terrible happened to her, it would crush Jimmy and “Saul” wouldn’t be the comic relief we see on Breaking Bad.
Oh please!!! I mean, I only saw BB through one time, but I don’t think saul ever was for sure single or anything. I hope so. Even if they broke up, pleeeeez, vince, don’t keeeel her!!!!! 🙏🏽
The Kettlemans have a Will and Jada Smith relationship.
😂😂 oh how Ive missed you 😂
I haven’t seen one second of Idol. I’m honestly surprised it’s still on.
But I do miss the good times we all had on our threads.
Same!
I am somewhat comfortable with basically rarely understanding anything with the cartel guys. I can hang better with the gringo story lines.
I'm posting separate threads for each episode.
Here are the links so far. Don't want to ping you to them until I know you're caught up :)
Better Call Saul -- Episode 6x3 "Rock & Hard Place" -- Discussion Thread
Better Call Saul -- Episode 6x4 "Hit & Run" -- Discussion Thread
Each episode has an "&" title. The first two were "Wine & Roses" and "Carrot & Stick".
At least, that's what I tell myself.
Then again, why wasn't security arranged in the first place by the Salamancas?
They had $7M to lose on bail money, but they couldn't pay for some added security for Jimmy and his POS car?
If Bolsa's plan had worked, Jimmy would have been killed and his people would have taken the bail money back home, so ... Lalo would still be in jail?
It made for a great episode, but these cartel story lines seem to be unnecessarily complicated.
Thank you so much!!! It was hard to find the first link. I think it was for the two first episodes.
I am clinging to your words. She’s been a great character. Remember when they got drunk and fooled some stooges in a hotel restaurant? That was years ago but so good.
When I grow up, I vow to become smart enough to understand the cartel threads on better call Saul. Goals. 😁
