It was a provocation against Russia. It wasn’t some out-of-the-blue surprise. Zelensky had ample opportunity to avoid conflict, and he and his puppetmasters have the blood on their hands for failure to do so. Mess with the bull and you get the horns.

Based on the condition of their current equipment and performance, I would question whether their nukes are even as capable as we think. Lots of moving parts have to work in perfect order to produce a yield. I think there would be a lot of duds because a lot of their maintenance money went to the oligarch’s yachts.

Putin is an aggressor and has dreams of being the guy who restored all the prior conquests of Russia. But he doesn’t want to be the guy who nuked the world and got his own country nuked in return.
And given that he can’t even beat Ukraine, he’s got to be wondering how well his country could fight a nuclear war.
There are reports that Putin used chemical weapons on Mariupol overnight. I’m guessing part of the response is Ukraine is going to get the fighters now.
