My favorite Star Trek is ‘The Jouney Home’. Want to be a Cetacean Biologist?

Balance of Terror was like a submarine battle in outer space.

"Balance of Terror" was essentially "The Enemy Below" set in outer space ...

The Way to Eden is the correct title of the space hippies ep. (Correcting my previous post #57).

Didn't he read the Constitution on an episode? I appreciate that in a Canadian.

He read the first paragraph of the Preamble during the episode "The Omega Glory".

And did it quite passionately.

They did a nice job adapting that script for Star Trek.

The Paradise Syndrome is the saddest episode. I still tear up at the end. That is the one where he married the Indian Princess.

Was that the one where Spock did a Vulcan mind melt telling Kirk to "forget" at the very end, or did that happen in a different episode?

Who Mourns for Adonis was a pretty good episode. Also one of the first I remember seeing.

The ending of A Boy and His Dog is an absolute classic.

Very true.

"Well, I'd say she certainly had marvelous judgment Albert....if not particularly good taste."

One of my favorites also! The Star Trek:TOS YouTube copycats 'Star Trek Continues' did a very good sequel to it. With the same guy playing an elderly Apollo! Actually 'Star Trek Continues' have some good episodes all done in the spirit of TOS.

The original Ellison script was an over-the-top mess that would have proven unfilmable. The final version told a neat story.

Here's some Joan Collins trivia for you. Collins was cast in the film noir caper picture Seven Thieves in which she plays a Burlesque dancer. The studio hired none other than Candy Barr to teach her to dance and do the shimmy.

Would have been a few years before she did the Trek episode.

The original story by Ellison was titled “Soldier from Tomorrow”. I remember reading it many years ago and never made the connection when I saw "Terminator".

I do recall thinking, "Oh yeah. Makes sense." when I read about the lawsuit.

It is progressive. Give it a new name, same old sh!t.

Harlan Ellison, now deceased, God rest his soul, was a contentious personality who also sued James Cameron director of the first Terminator film (1984) for copyright infringement

You could have also mentioned Harlan Ellison was the reason Asimov's "I Robot" was never produced.

Although acclaimed by critics, the screenplay is generally considered to have been unfilmable based upon the technology and average film budgets of the time.[6] Asimov also believed that the film may have been scrapped because of a conflict between Ellison and the producers: when the producers suggested changes in the script, instead of being diplomatic as advised by Asimov, Ellison "reacted violently" and offended the producers.[7] The script was serialized in Asimov's Science Fiction magazine in late 1987, and eventually appeared in book form under the title I, Robot: The Illustrated Screenplay, in 1994 (reprinted 2004, ISBN 1-4165-0600-4).

I was a subscriber at the time and read the serialized version in Asimov's Science Fiction magazine.   Harlan Ellison was a pumped up jerk.!
