Everything about that was absolutely wrong. You’ve been banished to the pit of hell for that.

Thanks for the tip on the book.
I will order one.
The car came with a paperback book with many detailed diagrams and great photos called: VOLKSWAGEN - Service - Repair Handbook (A Clymer Publication).
It is a treasure trove of technical information and follows the evolution of systems and engines over several years.

E.g., say you buy a car without power seats, this would usually mean there is no electrical motor installed that actually moves the seat. Your car is a bit cheaper, because you didn’t have to pay for that extra motor to be installed. In this case, however, it’s like you bought that motor and it’s installed (unless car companies are handing out free parts now), but you have to pay even more to actually use it.
Exactly. You also get to pay for hauling that motor you can't use along with you. Subscription services like this are evil IMO

I will be on my way in the morning, with the sole express purpose of kicking you in the ass. First stop: the local Dodge Dealer to get the Challenger Scat Pack I want. Second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth stops will be the gas stations along the way!

just wait until you press the brake pedal and all you get is the message: “This function has not been purchased.”

“You know exactly what I’m talking about!”
Nope. I can’t believe anyone would really want to drive without power steering and power brakes.

“Or these dumbass Keurig coffee machines, where you always are buying new coffee capsules from Keurig.”
Wrong! It comes with a capsule you can fill with your own plus hundreds of third parties sell them. Costco has boxes at good prices, especially when on sale.

Nope. I can’t believe anyone would really want to drive without power steering and power brakes. My first two vehicles didn't have power steering or power brakes. They also had manual crank down windows, manual locks, were carbuerated, lacked air conditioning, had distributors that were a bitch to set right and the list of "amenities" included vinyl seats, am radio's and carpeting.
The very first car I owned that came with power steering and power brakes was my 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. That was also the first new car I ever owned.
There was a reason we called it "armstrong steering" when we didn't have power steering, LOL!! BTW, I actually preferred non-power brakes for some time even after finally having them in my '87 Monte Carlo SS.
