My main problem is the bear bating since 1991 when the Soviets gave up. We could have fostered a real relationship of understanding instead of keeping NATO intrusion over their heads always pushing ourselves into the former Soviet Republics. Reagan advocated a Marshall Plan to boost the post-Soviet economy.

Reagan advocated a Marshall Plan to boost the post-Soviet economy.That would have been a Godsend if it could have been done without seeming to be an invasion itself. I remember in the news at the time the economic collapse and some starvation in Moscow. My wife and I mailed a 50lb bag of rice there. I have no idea if it got to people who needed it.
