I did not know that.
I seem to recall it says right on the bottle “Russian Vodka”.
Interesting.
Back in the 60s I worked in an auto plant in Ohio.
At shift change there were peeps selling low taxed Kentucky cigarettes out of their car trunk.
Big deal. Stupid gesture of nothingness.
> Another executive order. Nothing is legislated anymore. <
That is a VERY important observation. Executives have the right - and the duty - to act on their own when time is of the essence. In all other cases the people’s representatives must decide.
But as you noted, that’s rarely done anymore. Executives from mayors to presidents, both D and R, operate like kings. And nobody seems to care.
On WEEI this morning Greg Hill said the exact same thing. What about Russian dressing?
The went on to discuss the merits of “Chicken Kiev”.
Wasn’t coleslaw invented in Russia? Let’s outlaw that too.
/sarcasm of course
So corny.
Like....FREEDOM FRIES
Lol!
And Russian salad dressing? Any bans on that?
Back in the 1970/1980s there was major smuggling of cigarettes from New York across the border into Canada.
This was back when a pack of smokes in NY was $1.50. They were at least $10 in Canada. They would run speed boats across the Niagara River or Lake Erie from Buffalo to Fort Erie.
At the Indian reservation they were even cheaper because they did not charge the NYS tax. So, they would run boats from the reservation about 25 miles south of Buffalo on the lake shore.
I heard it on the news and then researched it myself and Stoli Vodka is not a Russian made product, it might have been a one time but not anymore
The “Smirnoff” brand hasn’t been made in Russia since before the Bolshevik revolution; the Smirnoff family fled Russia at that time.
Waiting for Governor Sununu to ban Canadian and Mexican alcohol since the governments of those countries actively support illegal aliens invading the United States.
Sununu ratcheting up the retardery to ‘11’.
Exactly, Sununu is an idiot. This is just like the Democrats who do things for show but which have zero meaning or effect. The only ones hurt here are the retailers who have already paid for their inventory. Not a surprising act from a RHINO though.
You know this mess is either going to kill his stand-up routine in Branson... or give it a second wind.
Exactly. The stuff was already paid for when the business received it. It’s too late to have an impact on the Russian economy.
Another issue is, the liquor stores in NH are all state owned.
And besides, what happened to limited government and Live Free or Die? Since when is it the state’s business to decide for me who I choose to support or not?
And as usual nothing but theater.
Were they playing “Imagine” in the background when he made the announcement? That would make the ban even more meaningful.
Wherever the best and brightest are in this country, I can tell you where they are not- they are not holding public office.
Their tough luck! Stupid, stupid, stupid! Grownups acting like toddlers.
