I knew a guy who tried to pet a squirrel. He got bitten.
It turned out to be quite serious.
He end up in hospital. He got bunch of stitches and quite serious infection!
These little guys have big teeth!
Why would he try to pet a squirrel?
In South Carolina we had 3 dogs, a Great Dane, toy Poodle and a small mixed breed. One morning all three were sniffing at something on the lawn. It was a newborn squirrel about the size of a peanut. I scooped it up and placed it in an aquarium lined with pine straw. Fed it diluted canned milk with an eye dropper. It grew into a gentle friendly little guy my 4 kids called Mikey. He would cling to my clothes when I went outside.
We sent him up a pine tree to join his family - and after we put him outside, he would sometimes peer inside the kitchen window.
.
Grey squirrels are not native to the UK. Wonder where it came from?
Where is Snots when you really need him.....

They disagreed with killing the little fuzzball, but did it anyway.
They were just following orders.
Authorities don't have a mad-on for the red ones, do they...
Why would he try to pet a squirrel?
___________
Because he was young and stupid!
add moose
Several of the victims reported that the squirrel, wearing a pair of aviator goggles, swooped down on them from nearby trees.
It’s why I have nickta phobia fear of a squirrel running up my pant leg.
I have many squirrels, red shoulder hawks, a few owls, cats, swimming pool. Hickory trees, oak’s...well fed squirrels to boot!
There’s one squirrel I’ve been keeping my eye on, I’ve named him Brunswick.
Reminds of the story about The Squirrel Grenade.
Don’t turn your back on Brunswick you can bet he’s keeping an eye on you too may be planning a tree jump ambush.
