Well, there has to be something to connect the strong delusion to, so the survivors swallow it whole.

...unless they’re lying to us...

The government has, indeed, being lying about those things for many years. Among the reasons are "not wise to admit we can't do anything about them" and "society cannot deal with such a truth".

Many misguided "people of Faith" are especially vulnerable to rational breakdown when they consider the prospect of ET. They somehow think the Bible tells them that there are no ETs, leaving them with the notion that such beings could only be demons. The Bible does not actually provide any information whatsoever regarding such topics.

Hey, I want to believe! Can you share ANY evidence that there is life in other places?

As far as what we know, space beyond the reach of out interstellar probes could be an elaborate projection. As silly as that sounds, it is just as possible as any other construct. The possibility of life on other worlds is speculation without evidence.

Our technology is only about 150 to 200 years old. Imagine a similar civilization that did not go through a "Dark Ages". They would be 2000 years ahead of us in technology, if we assume they started at the same time as we did. A "warp bubble" was created in the lab a few weeks ago. NASA has a "warp drive" research team.

To assume that we know everything about physics at this point in time is a very risky stance.

Christians (I include myself among them) would say that there is obviously something of great value here given that God sent His Son to the Cross to save us.

They are already here, and have been for a long time, and have already taken control- they’re called Liberals.

That is such a low-brow conclusion, typical of people in the Dark Ages.

Not necessarily.

Secular people have lately begun to speculate that these "others" seem to be having a deleterious effect on those humans observing them and that this effect might be characterized as "not well-intended" or even "evil."

That statement indicates that you believe religious faith is something only humans living in the Dark Ages would have...and that is not at all true.

Think outside the box and you will realize that a lot of scientists and people of high intelligence are men of faith.

I don’t know about other folks, but I start with the observation that these things are ‘something’.

We can consider them to be from another planet, another dimension, or multiple other speculations. We intensely examine the years since Roswell, but historical accounts that lack the technical understanding of our world are dismissed.

My observation about ‘demons’ is an attempt to bring together accounts from not only our current observations but ancient accounts too. People have seen things in the sky for a long time. But instead of denying ET, or dressing them up like Steven Spielberg, why not take a longer view?

The Global Governance thing makes sense.

It also might explain the weird 57-gender thing they are pushing. Maybe ET isn't binary-gendered, but more like a sliding scale of multiple genders for reproductive purposes.

I even explored the concept a long time ago, in my "True Story" on my home page.

"I had done my homework on this dangerous alien race. It appears that in order for the Forshund to procreate, they needed need the Trok, which serves as a place to plant the Motroy. The Trok genetalia consists of something vaguely resembling a catchers mitt. The Ponufti must take his/her lopki, which looks like two spheres suspended on a y-fork stick, and twirl them around the the Yepmens morglot, which looks like a spiral pig tail. These actions cause the spontaneous emission of Frogni Vapors, in which is the building blocks of the Motroy. That is where this Forshund came in.

Of course, the role of the Forshund Zelorian is amazingly involved and utterly disgusting that even Michael Jackson recoiled in horror when I told him. There is a 12-volume manual on even the basic sexual act of Trunorianing .... much less, the Mott!"

Why would any self respecting alien come to this obscure planet in this obscure solar system in this obscure galaxy when there are so many others to go to? Just askin.

Not only that but we also have to enter economics into the equation. Lets say someone invented net zero energy, think of the catastrophic impact that would have on the entire world economy. So we can’t let that happen just yet.

There are numerous reasons why the number of planets in our galaxy capable of sustaining carbon-based life is much smaller than the media and grant-seeking astronomers imply in their articles. In addition to the obvious life-hospitable factors, such as a temperature suitable for liquid water and a suitably-sized sun, there are many more factors required for a planet to be fit for human-like intelligent life:

Suitable gravity for atmosphere, with appropriate pressure, to retain oxygen and water vapor but not hydrogen; suitable axis rotation rate; appropriate tilt of planet axis for seasons; suitable orbital distance from star to prevent tidal locking; magnetic field from planet molten core to shield atmosphere from cosmic radiation; sufficient planetary plate tectonics for crustal mineral recycling; suitable distribution and shape of continents to sustain deep ocean currents; sufficient actinide radioisotopes in planet interior for decay heat; suitably-sized moon to create needed tides and stabilize planet rotation; giant outer gas planets to prevent large asteroids and comets from frequent collisions with planet; suburban galaxy location providing sufficient distance from recent supernovas; far enough away from gravitational disturbances by higher density of stars in inner area of galaxy; only minor orbital variations caused by small chaotic gravitational interactions with nearby planets.

More limiting factors on suitable plaents will likely to be discovered as we learn more about our galaxy. The estimated probable number of life-hospitable planets is likely very close to the experimentally known value of one.
