When I was young and worked as a common laborer, I worked with a couple brothers who were Gullah—big and strong, but not too bright. One almost killed me with a sledge hammer by accident when he swung it back without looking. Brushed me lightly but I missed a direct blow, praise the Lord.
Most whites I worked with couldn't understand Gullah, but I did and could talk with the Gullah brothers. I'd speak English and they spoke Gullah, lol.
