I have a similar philosophy with fret and worry. You are born with only so such fret and worry so pick and choose what really needs worry and let the rest glide by.
I’’ve lived longer than anyone else in my family. My mother was a terrible alcoholic, died at 82 from Korsakov’s Syndrome. Probably would have lived far longer had she lived a healthy life.
Good for you. This is a reason parents and grandparents may not inform the measurement.
Alcohol. Smoking. War. Even infection. You may have great genes and not know it because of something that “interfered” with genetic life expectancy.
John and his son John Quincy Adams lived 90 and 80+, and that was a challenging time to achieve that. War. Disease.
And they smoked cigars. Now THAT is a family with strong genes.
Food was better back then too.
Today we have GMO junk, pesticides, and terrible water in many cities including mine. Environmental Working. Group, ewg.org, has lists of veggies and fruits that need to be organic and some that don’t. Their “Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen” lists are taped to my refrigerator door. They also evaluate water in various cities. Ours is horrible and they don’t even count the lead in the pipes. I never drink tap water and neither does my cat. All the local stores sell huge bottles and have water machines where you can fill them with filtered water.
My cat gets Nutro Chicken and Brown Rice non-GMO organic crunchies, which she loves, and bottled water in her water dish.
Stay healthy my FRiend.
