There were a few... prominent and successful blacks in London during this time ... but not many. My favorite example was the black circus entrepreneur Pablo Fanque whom the Beatles made famous in their song “Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite”.

I remember, Highway 37 could be a treacherous highway. I saw, on Google earth, the golf course. I see they built houses right in the middle of the golf course. Strange. I wonder if any errant golf balls hit any houses?
