Thanks!
On a more serious note, I read a story not too long ago about a guy who had been dead in his house for months; his death wasn't discovered until the mailman couldn't put anything into the mail slot (the mail having piled up behind the door during this time).
Blasphemer! Heretic! Burn the WITCH!!!
You are on the money. The cost of returns to China are so high that the friend has a contract to receive them until they can dump them after they process the refunds to the original purchaser. They generally offload the returns to some third rate discount reseller .... you know, the ones on tv showing how they guy bought the bicycle for $11 or the suitcases for $40. These people must have loaned the friend their address which is conveniently located in the county with no clutter ordinances.
Laughing at you on that one.
Have you ever tried calling FedEx? Absolutely no customer service. They dumped a package here clearly addressed to someone else. Even when I fought through the automated system (that just comfirmed that the package had been delivered) the woman said that she couldn't help, as only the shipper could file about a mis-delivery. The package was too big to fit in my car, so I put it on a cart and walked to the proper address blocks away.
If the package had been smaller, I would have loaded it in my car and left it at the former Kinko's location in town.
Admitted thats not residential traffic. Slap a zoning violation on them.
...sorry guys I read the story.
But you’re right. This one is worth reading.
With that, I clicked it. Â You really suckered me. Â It was not worth reading.
Hmm, interesting. Learning something new every day on FR.
Ok, then I’ll take that back a bit. There have been docs on dumpsters and landfills with with piles of their stuff over the years.
Yes, I want to hold and inspect an item in person.
I refuse to use Amazon but have received items in Amazon boxes, grrrr.
You’d think the people would try to clean up before LE comes knocking. Not that LE could make their way to the front door.
A few months ago I bought a chainsaw from a guy. He buys pallets of Home Depot returns. The pallet my saw was in cost him $700 I think. It had several Ring Thermostats, three chainsaws and a bunch of other small items.
The manufacture date on my saw was April 2021. I got a great deal and he got a better one
I had read the entire story.. and still could figure it out .. o.O
I ordered a floor fan from them once.. instead of the floor fan, I received a box of high end copy-paper.
I was finally able to contact them, and they sent the fan and told me to keep the paper.
