Must have been a protected class. From what I heard, Delta never mentions 'human' in their breastfeeding policy.

I would guess that there is no law against doing what the woman was doing. When would lawmakers ever think that someone would do something like that?

Human milk is unsuitable for felines, anyway.
That’s why they use kitten milk replacer for severely weak orphaned animals such as squirrels.
It’s more concentrated and “heavier” than other mammal milks.

My first thought.
Well, not my first first thought but the only one I can post in a family friendly forum.

Whomever wrote that article was having a blast with the word play.
My favorite:
“She was discharged this week”
Still, no matter which way I turn my head to read the story, I simply cannot fathom how it happened.

Whoa … now there’s something you don’t see every day.
As a matter of fact, I’m guessing you don’t see that ever … anywhere .. not even in a Walmart.

Doesn’t matter. Flight attendant instructions are rarely codified law. Anything you do in a plane that starts a disturbance can be addressed by them. If you refuse to obey, it’s illegal to disobey instructions of a flight crew.
