I have a daytime picture of a bobcat in our backyard. In town. Bird feeders will attract. Also have a stuffed bobcat from our deer lease in Texas. Also saw what I would bet on, a black panther type animal just after dusk, laying behind the brush where my hubby was setting. Took off like a shot when I walked up. Was not a deer.
“They had thermal imaging of a large cougar in a tree, friends that lived in the area said they had been seeing “something” at night.”
They’ve quietly confirmed a cougar in Bloomingdale from the tracks.

Gland scent from a skunk that was caught in our trap is the best scent ever.
A deer will walk up to you but move around you lol
If I had seen that Redd Fox this morning, I wouldn’t be sitting here right now!!!
Owl. From 2016-19, I had a mated pair of tiny owls that would spend about 3 months under my partially covered patio in the late Spring and early Summer.
I could walk out to within about 3 ft. of the male who liked to sleep on top of the electrical junction box. His mate would be roosting under an eave about 20 ft. away.
They both were only about a foot tall, but had a wing span near 3 ft. .. When they flew they just dropped down and silently flew between all the limbs of many trees near the patio. Fantastic silent killers of rodents, lizards and snakes!
Girlfriend says there’s a bobcat that comes through her property regularly. I didn’t know they were rarely spotted. Saw a mangy one a couple of years ago, didn’t look like much of a threat.

Yes, across from Caputo’s.
South of the earth hill and just east of a frequent homeless camp. Occasionally the tree hugger cops from the forest preserve will run them off.
I was passing through on my bike one evening when they were doing just that.
I grew up there and know that area pretty well. One evening I was coming home from work and at the intersection of Circle and Broker there were 2 Bloomingdale police cars blocking Circle.
The cops were trying to herd a flock of wild turkeys back into the preserve. I rolled down my window and told them you really can’t herd turkeys. But if they gave me about 15 minutes I could be back with the right tool for the job.
They declined my offer of assistance.
