My late mother in law was a Vermonter and she said that at one time Vermont was quite conservative. She said that Vermont was the only state in the Union who did not vote for FDR. Now it is the state of Bernie Sanders and other socialist liberals. Baldwin will feel at home there.

My take is Baldwin realizes that his Hollywood so-called friends will take the victim's side over his. He is finished in Hollywood and doesn't want the hard looks and criticism he would get if he tries to continue to live there. So he's running away. Not surprised. He's a bully and coward at heart.
