Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino told CNN's Chris Cuomo that “the probability is strong that it is Brian's remains,” and he noted that Laundrie’s parents had been part of the search team.

“It's quite sad, you can imagine as a parent, finding your son's belonging alongside from the remains. That's got to be heartbreaking. And I can tell you that they are heartbroken,” he said Wednesday.

There’s no indication in the brief article as to the state of the remains, eg if it might have been suicide or a gator. However, even in a temperate climate you have to be a pretty good outdoorsman not to be dead of exposure after this much time with potential dehydration, malnutrition, and shelter

This writing has been on the wall for over a week. My assessment of Dog the Bounty Hunter, Duane Chapman, is that he’s the real deal. He feels that the Lord brought him to his job of bringing wrongdoers to justice as a last stand in his troubled life. The excuse Dog gave for suspending his search for Brian Laundrie was that Dog had injured his foot in the search. My assessment of Dog is that he would have chewed off his friggin foot in order to bring Laundrie to justice if there was any hope that Laundrie was still alive. You don’t just assume that a guy like Dog just gave up.
