That post has been given 5 Pinocchio by the fact checkers at FR. Truth is if the fasting is for at least about 12-14 hours where rebuild and repair kicks in, you will live longer. A lot of studies have proven this out.
I eat a meal at 1:30PM and again at 6:00PM. I eat until comfortable both time and avoid overeating. The largest cutback in calories was simply no snacks after the last meal.
I will break all of the rules in social situations - I despise the content of social interaction over somebodies special diet. My cholesterol has fallen into the lowest category for my age (50), My blood pressure dropped, My fasting glucose level has fallen into the 70’s. I had an encounter with liver disease so I am regularly tested. I am now on no medication and have the best protein levels I have had in years. My Doctor asked what I changed and I refuse to tell him - he does not like fad diets. I actually think that the no snacking after the last meal is where it is at...
