My sister knows a man, a pastor who was often a guest speaker at her church, who had covid and has been in a coma for a month now. She said he was in the hospital receiving supplemental oxygen and was holding steady. He was given Remdesivir and went into renal failure and everything has gone downhill since. She didn’t realize this was a side effect of Remdesivir. So sad 😢

Not really. midazolam is used in all kinds of procedures and in the ICU when sedation is necessary. It can also be used for treating refractory seizures and other assorted uses. In my experience ativan is used more often in hospice and palliative care

I received a full course of remdesivir in the hospital. I actually am a CKD patient. My kidney function improved while in the hospital. In fact, my GFR was almost normal during my stay.

If managed properly, remdesivir doesn’t seem to kill everyone, even those of us with pre-existing kidney issues.

Serious adverse events were reported in 131 of the 532 patients who received Remdesivir. That is 24.6%.

And, there is this warning, about Remdesivir, the so called ‘standard’ hospital *treatment*, from Dr Ardis...

But they’re not dying from the disease; they’re dying from the treatment.

Dr. Ardis implores his audience not to go into the ICU, and if they must, they should refuse to accept the protocol including Remdesivir, directing them to a resource at “myfreedoctor.com,” where physicians prescribe the early treatment medications free of charge. They also have legal teams that will threaten the hospitals against administrating Remdesivir.

I’m not a medic so my approach has been to recommend the anxious relative demand an immediate second opinion. They’re all alive. One is the husband of a friend of my sister’s.

Note also that respiratory viral illness isn’t obstructive. Patients can become distressed if their gas exchange is poor & they’re desaturating. But they don’t need mechanical ventilation coupled with sedation. Instead, an oxygen mask or nasal cannula will often help a lot, and if it doesn’t, your patient may be unsalvageable.

In U.K. the early default was sedation with excessive doses of midazolam & ventilation. Very few people lived through that.(if this isnt murder what it is!!)

The U.K. Department of Health had purchased a two years supply of midazolam in spring 2020. The NHS had also stockpiled a years supply by hugely reducing prescriptions for it in 2018-19.

So during the Great Panic of spring 2020, they found it appropriate to burn through 3 years supply of midazolam.

Dodging protocols. they administered 10 times the usual dose. No wonder so many elderly men died.

Already did my job treating in the southeast during the surge. And you know what — not a single vaccinated patient came through our critical care units. There were some hospital cases, but they did fine.
