OK, you have a different opinion - and - I understand how things get overblown, usually by the Media, but this was an Aussie citizen confirming other such reports.
What would her agenda be, as compared to the government? Is anything reported untrue? I’ll go with hers as I recognize the same things, in a nascent stage, going on here in the States.

Yes, I already posted that the first point in not true. ABC is not a state-run operation. It is like PBS and NPR...did Trump's government run those operations? ABC is a horrible media operation and shouldn't be partially funded by government funds. Currently it is run by the Greens Party, only about 10% of Australia's population. There were other points that were incorrect, but it appears useless to explain these to some on FR that have their minds made up.

You still do not understand that the almost all of the indentured servants were convicted criminals from Britain.

There is no important difference between government run and government funded.

There is a big difference. State-run is what happens in Communist countries such as the old Soviet Union and today's Red China and evern Russia today. The Chinese media is all state-funded and state-run.

You still do not understand that the almost all of the indentured servants were convicted criminals from Britain. The underlined isn't factual as they have no solid numbers to back up your claim. I've been doing genealogy since 1980 and people sold themselves as indentured servants for passage to the new world. Yes, convicts were sent here but they have no accurate count. YOU posted that too.
Have a lovely day.

I didn't post the number, it was a quote from Ancestry.com in the USA.
https://blogs.ancestry.com/cm/the-untold-lives-of-british-convicts-sold-to-america/#:~:text=Between%2050%2C000%20and%20120%2C000%20British,referred%20to%20as%20%E2%80%9Cservants.%E2%80%9D “Australians and Americans More Alike Than They Think
Between 50,000 and 120,000 British convicts were transported to America, a fact that makes many Americans “incredulous,” says Railton. This is often because convicts were politely referred to as “servants.” “ Also I posted from Gizmodo:
https://gizmodo.com/britain-sent-thousands-of-its-convicts-to-america-not-1707458418 “The joke about Australia is that it was founded by a bunch of criminals. And from 1788 until 1868, Britain did send roughly 164,000 convicts to the land down under. America's dirty little secret? The same exact thing was happening here. In fact, experts estimate that over 52,000 British prisoners were shipped off to colonial America.” I can find a dozens of other references with the same rough numbers, but I guess you are the “expert” and must defer to you.

Recently. I heard that Australia was built by transported convicts but it should also remembered they were accompanied by their jailers. One coin two sides....
