Isn’t that because they are wealthier? And can afford the extra protection? Also wealthier people tend to be better educated.
I read that they are snatching the antibodies up so fast that even other wealthy people can’t find them and have to go to the public clinics.

I would certainly like to know why vaccine efficacy in prevention of serious disease seems to be so much better in some states than others, even after allowing for the variations in % of states’ populations vaccinated.
My theory is that people in certain places feel that their life is so beautiful that they can’t get sick.
I noticed this in NY at first. Breezy Point and the southern coast of Staten Island were the hardest hit at one point, maybe even now, two places where the lovely sea breeze and uncrowded surroundings make them feel like they can’t get sick, unlike those people crowded into the subway cars.
The states that are having the problems are West Virginia, Alaska, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi. All states that have beautiful rural areas and are far from bustling problem zones like NYC.
Just a thought.
In a more abstract vein, and as an extension of the above observation, I would say that human denial behavior in general is what is keeping the darn pandemic going.
The unvaccinated are in denial that the sickness would ever dare to touch THEM.
The vaccinated are in denial that the vaccines have their limits.
The boosters, by the way, are being designed to prevent ALL of the sickness, not just the severe symptoms, and the most important aspect of that particular improvement is not that people won’t feel as sick but that it will help in stopping the spread. Read that in a letter to the Times that I can’t get my hands on right now. A very astute observation.)
