He’s technically competent enough to install solar panels in a conversion van and his muscles look well defined even if he isn’t a body builder.

Yes, my daughter lives north of Orlando, and they have bears coming through their neighborhood on garbage day mornings.

They have since day one lied to police, parents and public. They were/are not facilitating Brian’s suicide, they were helping him get out of the country while laying all sorts of false trails and rumors, in my opinion.

I was reading that they don’t like pine sol or pine cleaners, so told her to try putting a papertowel with soaked in pine sol on the top of the garbage. ??
We have a spray bottle of ammonia and spray the trash in the cans. I haven’t had to clean up trash since we sprayed.
They drop off 10 people in the wilderness(NW Vancouver Island, Patagonia, Mongolia, Northern Canada). It is not like some of these other shows where there is a film crew with them. They film themselves.
They check them weekly just to make sure they are not starving to death, etc. They give them a satellite phone to “Tap Out” or for an emergency.
I have watched through season 5. Almost all the participants are survival experts. They know how the trap, fish, hunt, etc.
They all have different methods to build a shelter. They allow them to bring 10 things with them: a tarp, sleeping bag, a saw, flint fire starter, fish hooks, a knife, bow & arrows, etc. They know what plants, roots and other stuff you can eat and what will kill you.
The thing that most can not handle is being ALONE. No one to talk to. It literally drives them nuts.
Most of the toughest guys can not handle being by themselves after a few weeks. In one season in Patagonia they had to remove two people because they had lost 17% of their initial body weight. The one guy was literally skin and bones. If they did not take him out, he could have died. So, it is not that easy to live out in the wilderness.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll pass it along. Where she grew up, we just have racoons and occasionally opossums get into the trash. Her neighbor’s front door camera showed a huge bear just walking down their block last week on garbage day, checking the bins.

With all the COVID-19 hysteria, I'd think that the airports are very secure right now. Foreign countries are limiting entry, so Laundrie would have had to show proof of vaccine and his passport (if he has one, do we know if he's traveled abroad before?), which would certainly have been flagged.
So that leaves Canada and Mexico. Being an avid camper, he's probably capable of finding a back-road into each country that's not monitored by a border patrol.
In Mexico, I think he'd stand out because he doesn't have the skin tone and body shape of ethnic Mexicans. Besides, he'd have the drug gangs to contend with and lots of open desert spaces or squalid border towns that make it difficult to hide. If he speaks Spanish, it would be with an American accent.
In Canada, on the other hand, he'd fit right in. The border is lush with forestry and hills, he would look like anyone else he comes across, he might not even drive in -- choosing to hike across instead. Then, he can slowly make his way around the central provinces until he figures out what to do next.

We had a neighbor that put straps on his cans to keep out raccoons. We told him it wouldn't work. Sure enough, he had to hike into the woods to retrieve his OPEN cans. LOL

Brian was so self-reliant that Gabby’s father had to order food for his daughter and Brian on occasion during their trip.

I think that’s why they were saying in a report just today that he got into a tiff with servers outside the Tetons where Gaby was found. They had no money, and he only just wanted to rough it. But she is OCD and probably hates the disorder, uncleanliness and unpredictability that he was pushing for out there, so they broke down and went to that diner to keep her from having a breakdown from the insect bites and lake of real food, but didn’t have enough money to pay. So he argued, because he is a schizoid sociopath and he is always either right or a victim. I’m pretty sure he drove her crazy. She lost it, and then he did.
I didn’t read the article but if he did last 6 weeks with a box of crackers, I am assuming he also did some foraging, fishing, hunting, and gathering (including stealing food or crops), in which case he may have got plenty of protein and vitamins from greens, nuts and vegetables, but it was those crackers that kept him from going into keto shock. One a day would go a long way in that regard. But I agree with most on here; I am sure he is no rambo or even a true survivalist. Because of his mental illness, he just feels driven to hide away.
