No one seems to recall Dr Gene Scott.
He spent a decade with a camera just focused on his face, demanding people buy him things. Horses, ranches, cars, planes. He didn’t even evangelize. Her days he would own his church and show the pride what God wished him to do.. street he got all these things.
He also got busted buying hookers. Her said God told him to buy hookers until he found a special one to open the church with.
Flash forward, the story does not end the way you think it does. He finds a Vegas super. Married her. Opened a mega church. Had some RIVETING sermons. His wife took over the church when he died. She also has riveting sermons.
Melissa Scott. Look her up.
“Get on the telephone!”
Not a fan, but what makes him “right-wing”?
.....But...there are good ones [pastors]. You just have to find them.
Applies to churches too. Give directly to your (hopefully good) church.
Yeah, with that much in assets, he could trade his current “rides” (Cessna 550 Citation Bravo and Cessna 750 Citation X) for something a little “nicer,” like a G550. With Rush’s passing, I wonder if Katherine has his beloved jet up for sale?
Then you certainly don’t want to watch his victory channel show ‘Flashpoint. I have friends that kept sending me links to that program, but they finally quit watching that show. The false prophets on there had prophesied that the Xiden election was going to be overturned by late November 2020, then before Christmas, then before mid January, then before mid March.....
I wanted to see what they had to say after being wrong one of those times, and watched their streaming channel for a bit. It went something like this: “Well, God does things his way, and in his chosen time...”. That’s true, so those guys need to stop the ‘prophesying’.
My friends were embarrassed that they had believed those guys, and don’t even mention Flashpoint anymore.
Last I heard (about a year ago?) he HAS a Gulfstream, and was asking for a few mil for new engines, interior, and paint.
I have seen her on TV. She is nice to look at and knows the Gospel, but their “church” is very secretive, and I suspect fraud.
What does he need a jet for?
Can’t he just declare himself to translate, like Philip?
oh, believe me , i won’t watch.
Actually I was referring to both. My church has a wonderful pastor and the people are just beautiful. I’ve never witnessed what I’m sure the early church was like before. No gossip. No slander or any of that. They truly love one another and care for each other. Some drive, literally, 2 or 3 hours each way to attend on Sundays. Others have moved here. One from across country, just to attend/join. You have no idea how blessed I am God led me here from the miserable pit I was living in. In the 4 months I’ve been going my life has changed so much it can be confusing at times. They tell me it’s OK. that’s normal stuff....
I am one of those fools.
Although I am not a big fan of Kenneth Copeland, I attended The Southwest Believer’s Convention in Ft. Worth for the Flashpoint Live broadcast. I learned more about Kenneth Copeland’s life from General Flynn. KC fought for this country.
I LOVE Flashpoint and consider myself a member of The Flashpoint Army!!! My donations go to this program only. Gene Bailey is an amazing man of God and commentator. The guests on this program have messages none of the other newscasts have. Dr. Peter McCollough and others have time to talk about issues vs. snippets of 20 second news.
I also listen to Christian radio mostly. Love the messages and music.
I just left the Methodist church. They left Christ and John Wesley. Cannot lead a new soul saved to that denomination so I cannot be there either.
So, this should give many a hay day for flaming me! Bring it on!!
I don’t mean that
Man his deceased wife must have lost her love for him
What I recall she persisted for divorce over his objections
Is that accurate
His church kept him but said he couldn’t remarry
Not sure what to make of that
My mom watched him religiously
I have a friend who followed all those “The election will be overturned” prophets. They were selling that prophecy for a profit. They sure backed out of that road in a hurry when they were wrong.
Oddly, he still follows them.
Ping
If he owns a fleet of jets, what does he need another one for?
He can travel in one of his other ones.
I listened to Charles in the distant past. I found he's full of milk toast platitudes and squishy theology. Then when he had a marital crisis due to his wife threatening to divorce him, I hit the brakes.
He's just a preacher with a southern sing-song delivery, lulling you into thinking you really went to church. It's like going to KFC for a bucket of chicken and when you get home, smelling chicken, open the bucket and find nothing inside.
Alister Begg and Chuck Swindoll are other ones I trust.
I’ve never heard bad teaching from either of them.
Word of faith and prosperity preaching are very destructive.
I ran into some folks like that and I can see how damaging it was.
Other than James Dobson and John MacArthur, I am hard pressed to think of prominent evangelicals who take a hard line in the culture wars. Both of them are well up in years. Charismatic ministers seem to be more prominent in the fight than was the case 30-40 years ago during the heyday of the Christian Right.
