We forgot 241 US Marines, sailors, and soldiers dead as a result of the 23 Oct 1983 bombing of the battalion headquarters. Iran still hasn’t paid that bill.
Add in the 58 French paratroopers that were operating under our umbrella, so we are responsible to avenge that too. That bill has been left unpaid.

In a 14 January 2014 article published by Frontpage Magazine entitled “`New Declassified Docs Expose Obama’s Benghazi Lies “ is the following statement:

They were apparently forced to deplane and change out of their uniforms before flying to Libya. “When we got people down do you really have — do you really actually let somebody push the military around and say, well, you are in the wrong uniform,” Chaffetz asked in disbelief. “Is that really a reason to delay the FAST team coming in to protect Americans, that they are not wearing a t-shirt?”
Okay, got it mixed up a little. I can see them being ordered out of uniform for political reasons, but why back and forth? Who the hell gave such an order? They were from Tripoli, correct? The 2 or 3 that gave interviews said the CIA Annex director told them no air support was coming from Aviano due to re-fueling needs over the Med.
So, the RRT took a flight from Tripoli to some Benghazi airstrip and proceeded in vehicles just as Kaddafi's loyalists were escorting the Americans out the Annex gate? Do I have that correct?
My memory is vague because I've seen the interviews, the movie, but never read the book. Plus, I'm an old fart, and this Afghaniscrap debacle and now Biteme's mandate for vaccines or weekly tests takes up what brain cells I have left.
Now I’m really confused. A poster above implied it was the rapid response team out of Tripoli that had to repeatedly change uniforms. Plus, I just looked up the map distance to Benghazi from Aviano, Italy and Rota, Spain. It looks like Rota is even further from Benghazi than Aviano in northeast Italy. BTW, I was stationed in Rota for 3 years.
I’d have to look at my notes but I was under the impression that it came from outside of Libya but don’t recall the source off hand.
My understanding on the changing in and out was because the Odumbo admin was a bunch of idiots who couldn’t make up their mind.
The Khadaffi loyalists owned and operated the planes out of Benghazi & Libya.
The 17th Feb was part of the problem. The American’s couldn’t differentiate between friend or foe and were engaged by the Odumbo admin as a cost saving measure. If the complex had been staffed by Americans, the attacks would have probably been repelled earlier.
It’s also my understanding that to conduct a mortar attack is fairly complicated and requires extensive training. The only reason the shelling stopped was that their leader was in the complex and ordered it stopped otherwise there may have been more loss of life.
The plane that was dispatched and had soldiers ordered in/out of their uniforms were dispatched late and the attack was over by the time they got there. I’m not even sure they ever landed.
Sorry, I'm running out of time. We avenged Pearl and avenged Britain and western Europe. I say the next fight, we obliterate the entire country or faction, collateral damage be damned. Forget the nicey nice nation building.

Yes, I know much of the above. I even mentioned that the surviving contractors talked about the mortar accuracy having to be from recon. Never heard about any enemy leader being inside. I’m letting this go for now. Thanks for the polite replies.

However - it may be a completely moot point. See a 2012 Breitbart article entitled: “FORMER SEAL: OBAMA NEVER GAVE ‘CROSS-BORDER AUTHORITY’ ORDERS”.
That rings a solid bell in my memory, which make sense because Spain and Italy would be "cross-border". A big however, it wasn't that Obambi wouldn't give orders, it was because no one would wake him because of his fund-raising trip to Vegas next morn.
So then, it was the Tripoli troops who had the problems of arriving late. You know those guys were major pissed.
The above begs the question, why did Bambi and Witch bomb Libya since it was cross-border from our bases in the Med? I've never understood their reasoning for deposing Gaddafi. They were having a civil war and both sides were committing atrocities IIRC. There had to be a bigger reason since Gaddifi gave up his WMD research and was long before put in his place by Pres. Reagan.
It must have been Deep State and/or military complex paybacks. It makes no sense to me - he was harmless to our national interests, unless I missed something at the time.
Why did Deep State do this...
And why is this coming out now...
