If you look at YouTube animal videos, you will see loving, friendly cougars, lions, tigers, cheetahs, bears, wolves, rhinoceri, hippos, and so on. They can form complex relationships with people and with animals of different species. They all know how to play, in one way or another. Most of them like being petted. Many of them enjoy music.

I had no idea.

I recall about 30+ years ago at a small gun show a dude walking around in the crowd with an adult cougar on a heavy chain...(not his girlfriend)

Eventually they get to tired to stalk you anymore.
