I had never heard of him before - a very interesting observation - that their lies are not designed to convince you but to humiliate you.
It explains why the Leftists don’t even bother to make their lies halfway believable.
Conservatives (patriots) are always confused by the Left - wondering if the Leftists are stupid enough to believe their own lies, or whether they think we are that stupid.
I guess the answer is no and no. They want to force us to repeat lies and comply with stupid rules - the more stupid they are, the better -
It’s exactly like forcing fraternity pledges to do stupid and embarrassing things…
Wow, this puts a whole new light on November 3 - they forced us to accept a corrupt and mentally impaired idiot as President. They did it on purpose!
Yup- that’s why i posted it- (someone else posted it in another thread)- The left no longer even bother to try to hide their disdain for our country and for our moral beliefs, and they keep saying the most outrageous ridiculous things over and over and over again- until people begin to believe it or accept it
what the left are doing is a form of gaslighting- Which is a psychological assault on victims that cause them to eventually collapse in mental exhaustion

I beg to differ. What Dalrymple is talking about is different than gaslighting in that the lies are not designed to convince. They aren’t even intended to be believable.
With gaslighting, the whole point is to convince you you are insane.
With this other form of psychological manipulation that Theodore Dalrymple is talking about, the lies are intentionally unbelievable - but they force you to repeat them, and force you live according to rules that you know are wrong, in order to control and humiliate you.
Unlike gaslighting, their goal is not to make you believe their lies, their goal is to torture you by making you submit ti a reality you DON’T believe in. The torture is actually greater the less you believe their lies.
I wonder if there is a name for this form of psychological torture.
It’s weird because I just realized that my Leftist acquaintances have been doing this to me recently: whenever they have me outnumbered, they confront me with rhetorical questions like “So, do you think Biden is the President right now?”
They have been watching on CNN that the crazy Trump supporters actually believe Biden is not the legitimate President and that Trump will be restored to his rightful place some time in the next few weeks.
So with their question, they are trying to bait me into saying Biden is not the legitimate President, so they can laugh at me - or if I say he is President - they can have the satisfaction of hearing me admit he’s President.
I say “Yes, he’s President… [I pause long enough for them to get that smug look of satisfaction that they forced me to admit it, then I continue with…] …as a result of stealing the election”.
But I think they are trying to torture me be forcing me to accept this insane reality that nobody believes
