The one word I would not apply to that party is sophisticated. An amazing amount of money for party that looked like something a deposed tinpot dictator would arrange.

I think the word for her is “sop”, and not sleek like a Sopwith Camel plane. “Plain” is more appropriate. She has a face/smile that looks like someone shoved a pickle up her butt, and gave her serious brain damage.
