RIP I saw him when he visited my aunt’s restaurant years ago.
He was one of the great ones. RIP, Jackie.
RIP Jackie. I enjoyed your stuff.
Sincerely hope you made it to Heaven.
That middle finger gesture was a thing in ancient times, at least back to ancient Rome and Greece.
Johnny Cash famously gave “the finger” at a San Quentin concert back in the 1960s. So the gesture has been around for quite a while.
I have video evidence it was used during the Korean War.
I was watching a documentary about the F-86 Sabre, called "Great Planes," which was produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corp., (this may be why the gesture got past the censors). They were showing footage of a squadron of F-86s preparing for a mission during the war and I noticed, as each jet taxied past various people on the ground, the people were all smiling and enthusiastically waving their hands at the jets. Then I almost spit my drink out when a guy standing by a jeep, which was labeled "flight surgeon," clearly waved his middle finger at the passing jet. At this point I noticed the aircraft numbers on the tails of each jet and figured out the joke.
You can see the footage at the 24:00 minute mark here
Is the story true about American POW would flip off their Japanese captors When ask

Or,was that a movie I saw?
93 years is a good run.
18 more years than the Obama team want to give the luckiest of us plebs.
Jackie Mason has been like one of the family for I estimate about 60 years. He was the warmest, funniest and best-educated of all the stand up humorists, pointing out with his crafted whammy, side-splitting, turns of phase, the essence of the foibles of mankind and the bare truth of who are simply foolish and who the outright evil among mankind. He His serious messages were delivered in the gift of side-splitting laughter. May his memory continue to delight and teach us, our children, and our children’s children. He still had a lot to say. b.d.e.
I guess every generation thinks theirs’ is the first to come up with certain well known signs, symbols and lifestyles.
Now I know better.
That Jackie Mason, who entertained millions three quarters of century would be remembered mainly for a one-time gesture is a sad commentary on the thinking of some of the American public.
Oh, my word. It was used in Ancient Greece four centuries BC, and in this country probably from the beginning, but at least since the development of photography so that the gesture could be "captured" for posterity. I'm older than dirt and remember it from my older brother wishing to start something with me without our parents overhearing.

Well, as Gomer Pyle would have exclaimed: “Gaw-ahh-Lee!”
Nothing new under the sun.
