My shrink has a ketamine clinic. Of course it doesn’t “knock you out”. But it’s expensive. He isn’t trying to push it on me; I brought up the subject to him. I’m considering it, when I feel I can afford it. Depression is a painful drag.

I’ve been depressed since I was a child. I’m 69 years old. Talk therapy does not work, nor does “pull yourself together”, or “pull yourself up by the bootstraps”, nor “keep yourself busy”. My mother was seriously depressed, and at least one of my children is depressed. Temporary situational depression is NOT the same as chronic depression.

i had another weird waking up experience from surgery too- everything was in fast motion- it was like a cartoon- people were zipping across the room in fast motion- it was really weird- like i was trying to focus on someone across the room, and next thing i knew, i saw a trail, as they came flying across the room next to me to check on the vitals and such - I mentioned it to them, but they just politely nodded lol-

>>It does cause what is known as emergence reactions in people as they recover from the anesthesia... scary, waking dreams.

Doesn’t sound optimistic

The primary indication of ketamine is for “status epilepticus”

that is— a seizure that persists for more than 5 minutes and unresolved by other means. Some 30% of people who have a status eplilepticus event or events plural, will die of this within 30 days.

The side effect profile of ketamine is such that it could not be safely used in over 80% of people because of their cardiovascular condition... ie. hypertension, and coronary artery disease/heart attack risk factors.

Lysergic Acid revisted— it sure did help a lot of “jumpers” complete their mission. You are correct— we are lapsing into a 1950’s martini lunch “MAD MEN” kind of mentality that this kind of “what the hell” methodology will WORK. Take a pill take a pill take a pill—— MSN is stumping for one of Fauci’s brand name PHARMA pals.

BTW this is an ancient agent. Patent first held by Parke Davis. Interesting olde line medical history on Parke-Davis-— right down to the hand “travel kit” cocaine powder, distilled water and syringe kit sold by the company for years prior to the 1913 Pure Food and Drug Act. The one that took the coke out of coke.

To be sure— loonies in the fedgov pharma neurotics who want to control people— have been steering toward labeling caffeine alkaloid as a drug requiring prescription— this would not ever happen as long as there is a cola/soda business in the world.

A B-12/folic acid patch sounds fine, and Lions’s Mane sounds interesting, but I am wary about taking SAMe because the body can turn it into toxic homocysteine. TMG converts homocysteine into SAMe, and I think that is safer than taking SAMe directly.

People for whom TMG or SAMe doesn’t help their depression might want to try 5HTP(5-hydroxy-tryptophan), which is a serotonin precursor, and a natural alternative to Prozac. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11687048/
