Seems like a lot of work for an amount that is less than walking around pocket change.
I’ve looked for a few lost mines/treasure in Colorado. There’s good reasons they’re lost.

I was just thinking what’s a great way to get sued? “Attractive Nuisance” has long been a thing. That’s basically why you can’t put a trampoline in your front yard without a fence around it.
Any state or county owned property might have some issues with this. Sure it’s all stupid, but that’s the world we live in.
And now people will come from all over and spend thousands of dollars looking for it. 🤣

This reminds me of Tsar Romanov’s missing gold, supposedly buried somewhere in Siberia. A huge, huge fortune, according to one article I read. I wonder how many are still searching for it.
Try Scott’s Valley, north on Strawberry Rd until you see the banana slug cantina. Then right and start hunting.
